Christopher Brown amp Marci Geller in Concert

$15 advance, $18 at the door.

Brown is not only a singer/songwriter but an artist/illustrator, who can capture a subject's essence through caricature. With a few strokes, he reveals hints of a character's nature or temperament, their mystery or charm. He does the same thing with lyric and melody, outlining and shading characters and moments, even yearnings and states of mind. His deep rumble of a voice can be as direct as an approaching train, yet is warm and forgiving.

On his third CD, Characterist, Brown sings of lessons learned and of taking stock mid-way through the journey. He chuckles over the big stuff, even death, but sings with tenderness of the small turns in life that leave their marks on all of us. He'll introduce you to his dad, to Cyrano and Juliet's little-known relationship, to an honest and oddly likeable Devil and to a soldier in Vietnam.

Chris has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow, Buskin & Batteau, James Maddock and Jonathan Edwards, at venues throughout the Northeast, including  the Townecrier, Hard Rock Café, Watercolor Café & The Pleasantville Music Festival.

“The songs on Christopher Brown's new cd, Characterist, unravel with the depth and sophistication of four minute novellas. His resonant baritone and sly sense of irony and humor only deepen the inherent pleasures within.”- John Hammel, HomegrownRadioNJ -

Marci Geller is a piano-based singer-songwriter, whose passion and tenacity have helped her forge a distinct niche in the independent music arena. With music that ranges from sublime to quirky to bittersweet, she weaves beautiful, intimate verses with infectious choruses. Named an “Editor’s Choice” in 2010 as one of its favorite songwriters of the last decade by Independent Songwriter Magazine, Marci also is a frequent “Featured Artist” on and was recently selected to showcase at the 2012 Cape May Singer Songwriter Conference. Marci has performed on Live with Regis and Good Day NY, among other TV shows; secured a number of soundtrack placements; toured internationally as the support act and back-up vocalist for Blackmore’s Night; and was a founding member of the now-defunct trio Lucky 13. She is currently working on her next solo CD.
