Award winning British singer/songwriter James Maddock will be performing a special 2 PM matinee concert, showcasing new songs from his forthcoming CD, Another Life, to be released February 2013. He will be accompanied by Oli Rockberger on keyboards.
James was first recognized in the U.S as the front-man for the band Wood. The acclaimed Songs From Stamford Hill, which remains a fan favorite 10 years later, produced a Top 5 Triple A hit (Stay You), was included in the first Dawson's Creek compilation, and enabled Maddock to tour with the likes of Paula Cole, Train, and Susan Tedeschi.
After taking an extended break from recording, Maddock returned to the scene in 2009 with the exquisite collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, for which he won the 2010 NY Music Award for best Americana Album and Best Vocal performance.. He followed with the critically acclaimed Wake Up and Dream and has steadily gained traction in the Northeast U.S. with his infectious live performances and accessibility to his fans.
"James Maddock hails from England, but with his move to New York City, he's assimilated the best of blue collar American music and found an infectious way to communicate it from the stage”.- John Platt, WFUV-
