Aztec Two-Step Valentine's Concert
25 Fremont Ave, Park Ridge, NJ 07656 usa
Come join celebrated folk-rockers Aztec Two-Step, ''possibly the best acoustic duo in the world today,'' according to Richard Cuccaro in Acoustic Live, for a special early Valentine’s Day Show at the Acoustic Café Music Series in Park Ridge, NJ on Saturday, February 9th.
Aztec Two-Step takes its name from the poem "A Coney Island of the Mind" by award-winning beat poet, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and since 1971 Fowler and Shulman have been writing and performing songs that helped make their generation’s musical memories. Exactly one year after their serendipitous meeting at an open mic in Boston, Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman burst upon the scene with their 1972 Elektra Records debut. That debut, and their three subsequent releases on RCA, helped define the duo as bringing the folk-rock music of the 1960s into the '70s and beyond.
An early 2012 release of Cause & Effect, a new studio CD, commemorates Fowler & Shulman’s 40th Anniversary. It is a collection of sixteen songs of social significance produced by Paul Guzzone and featuring long-time bassist Fred Holman. The album is a combination of re-worked previously recorded songs, as well as newly mined material.
