Tribes Hill brings the 3 Rix to Urban H2O this Saturday at the Beczak Environmental Education Center in Yonkers

On Saturday night, February 20th, join us by the roaring fire of the Beczak Environmental Education Center for UrbanH20's monthly music series when Beczak and Tribes Hill welcome the 3 Rix (Rick Nestler, Rich Bala, and Rik Palieri) to our exciting new collaborative music venue.

Individually and together, the 3 Rix have performed with the legendary traditional musicians of the Hudson Valley, including Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Tom Chapin, Tom Paxton, Jay Ungar, Molly Mason, Happy Traum, John Herald, Eric Weissberg, John Roberts, Utah Philips, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Ralph Stanley, Jimmie Driftwood, Tony Barrand and The Hudson River Sloop Singers.

Their songs, performed solo and in different combinations, range from those of the first European settlers and pioneers to the ballads of the Revolutionary War, from the shanties of whaling ships, canawlers, and steamboat pilots to the work songs of farms, lumber camps and bluestone quarries, from the songs of hobos, tramps, and those who rode the rails (collected by FDR's WPA Project) to the anthems of today's environmental movement.

The Three Rix will have you singing along and tapping your feet, and leave you with a greater appreciation and deeper understanding of the people who created the heritage of the Hudson Valley and forged the legacy of America.

Oh, and by the way, the award winning Captain Lawrence Brewery is sponsoring this event, so your $10 admission at the door entitles you to this amazing microbrew, guaranteed to enhance your listening experience. Bring your own mug, please...
