Tribes Hill Artist Submission Goals & Guidelines for UrbanH2O

Tribes Hill and Beczak Environmental Education Center are proud to bring you UrbanH2O.  This year-round music series presents our community's finest artists paired with national touring artists - right in our own back yard.  Weather permitting; shows will be outside, on the Hudson Riverfront. Otherwise, shows will be indoors (and fireside during the winter!).  

Tribes Hill members are encouraged to submit proposals for an evening of music which includes a Tribes Hill artist hosting an artist of some distinction & renown. In keeping with our mission statement, we hope to garner the attention of a wider audience and regional radio like our friends at WFUV. Particular attention will be given to events encouraging collaboration between artists.

Please email your submission to UrbanH2Oartists@gmail.com and be sure to include:
Electronic press kit (or at least artist websites)
A short description of your proposed program including strategy for marketing and PR
Any technical requirements
Division of compensation (See details below).

There is a $350 guarantee for the artists, to be divided as you see fit.
There is a $100 guarantee for the sound engineer.
If ticket revenue comes in over $450, the additional money will be split as follows:
50% to artists, to be divided as you see fit
40% to Beczak
10% to Tribes Hill
Artists will keep 100% of their merch sales.

BONUS!
Award winning local brewery, Captain Lawrence, will provide complimentary craft beer for all attendees. A tip jar will be placed by the tap & all tips go directly to artists.

Tribes Hill is expected to provide some volunteers for each show. All volunteers will be given free admission. Folks willing to work the door, the merch table, or help with setting up and breaking down lights and sound would be most appreciated.

Submissions will be evaluated by a Selection Committee and shows will be organized by an Event Committee.  The Selection Committee will be made up primarily of Tribes Hill members who are not active performers. The Event Committee with be made up of both performing and non-performing Tribes Hill members. If you are interested in serving on either of these committees, please send an email to urbanH2Oartists@gmail.com

(Being on the Event Committee will not hurt anyone's chances of being selected to perform...)

The selection committee is now accepting submissions for the following dates in 2010:

July 17th, August 21st, September 18th, October 16th, November 20th.

The deadline for this round of submissions is March 21st, and selections will be announced on April 15th.
